joss (3076), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Pine, apricot & resin hop aroma. Amber, tanned creamy head.
Fruity (apples, peaches) base, plentifull hops, somewhat flat middle, hop-flower sparkles, ends on a oily resin note.
Oily mouthfeel. Pine aftertaste. masonjer (394), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jul 14, 2008 Thanks to Brewdad for giving me a chance to try this. Poured a deep orange color into the glass. Aroma was bitey hops, dough and fruit, with a little mint as well. Taste was big hops, nice herbal character, ripe fruit, tangerine, mint, dough and spice. this was nice, and a little different than most. WISEGUY572 (1074), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2008 Honey lemon and pine in the nose. Hopped to Asgaard and back! And then some in the finish! Great lacing like all of their drafts. mgermani (558), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 29, 2008 Pours a lovely pale-strawberry amber with minimal head & lacing. Lovely fresh bread aroma, sweet and lightly buttery, more reminiscent of an early spring evening than the depths of winter. Tastes delightfully bitter, the Goldings are definitely apparent and blend well with the other more citrus-like hops. Definite orange taste but lots of astringent malt and hop bitterness wash over like a bitter tea, never quite disappearing into the warming finish. Body is a tad thin but reasonable carbonation. This straddles a fine line between barleywine and ASA - I like it a lot! A surprise find at Six Mile in Victoria, B.C. carruthm (306), USA May 20, 2008 clear golden color with small head and light lace. hoppy aroma, smooth finish with some hoppy minty taste.
