NaturalIce (56), South Orange, New Jersey, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle - poured out with a thin white head. Sweet aroma; somewhat hoppy. First Magic Hat experience and I’d have to say it’s a lot sweeter than I expected. Watered down Sweet & Sour flavor with a very subtle bitter finish. "Decent." tgncc (170), Bellmore, New York, USA Apr 28, 2008 Aroma of piney hops. Appearance is redddish, like most pale ales. Persistent white head. The flavor is bitter, hoppy, and malty, and a little stale. The palate leaves a modest hop burn. Decent ale, not great. changeup45 (460), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 12, 2008 I was a little disappointed with this from Magic Hat as it was a sub par effort for them. Pours a copper color with a medium to thick white head and a decent amount of lacing on the glass. Sour and sweet (as most Magic Hat beers are on the sweet side), with the sour mouthfeel lingering quite a while. Bitter finish. Aroma wasn’t bad, sweet, mild hoppy with a hint of appricot. There are plenty of other selections from Magic Hat that are much better. bbp182 (242), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 5, 2008 Fat Angel by Magic Hat. What can I say? Its original and distinctivly different. Which is what Magic Hat is great at. Full bodied, sweet, malty, and complex. A great beer. smashteroid (130), USA Mar 30, 2008 Glad I got to try it on tap at the brewery in Burlington before it was retired, even though it wasn’t really a great beer. Anyway, it was served cold on tap. Poured medium brown and had an aroma of...I don’t know, it was actually really weak. You could taste the hops alright but the malts weren’t all that present. It was an okay beer but certainly not Magic Hat’s best. It won’t be sorely missed.
