beerheart (211), Erie, Colorado, USA Jul 5, 2008 I would write the same things I write about most good IPAs--about piney hops, citrus, etc. I think what is distinctive about this is that it is such a well-done traditional IPA. What makes it distinctive is the long fruity finish. Very nice. .I am looking forward to trying more beers from Nøgne. aracauna (2188), Georgia, USA Jun 30, 2008 Pours a rich amber with a slight haze. The head domes over the top of the glass nicely. The aroma is nicely hoppy, but not really over the top. The flavor is a nice balance of hop flavor and bitterness with a solid malt backbone. Tasty beer. espenra (56), Oslo, Norway Jun 29, 2008 50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Batch 349. It poured a hazy orange colour with a big creamy head that was slow to settle down. The flavour is dominated by apricots. The flavor is spicy and very bitter, and tastes of grapefruit, pineapple and hops.
It has a long lingering aftertaste. Dr_Funk (35), Sorumsand, Norway Jun 22, 2008 bottle @ Balsam Cocktail Lounge, Oslo
Lovely hazy amber color. Nice persistant head. Great cascade aromas with lots of grapefruit. Well balanced taste and lingering palate. One of my faourite IPAs joeyplush (30), Boothwyn, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2008 A very good IPA - great hoppy aroma and taste, with hints of floral and citrus from the hops. Just the right balance of bitterness from the hops.
