Enjoyit (1071), Vadum, Denmark Jul 3, 2008 Clear golden of color with a beige head. An aroma with sweet malt and caramel. A flavor with sweet malt, toffee, malty bitterness. A very nice english barley wine!! DuffMan (1868), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 31, 2008 Hazy orange amber, short-lived head. Sweet boozy aroma and palate. Grainy, with strong orange brandy and floral hop notes. Harsh finish with a little hot alcohol. Walt (2255), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 24, 2008 Pour is hazed orangey amber with a thin off white head...smell is lightly sweet and toasty with some caramel notes....also sour and wet cardboardy...taste is sweet and bland...really nothing at all except a cardboard aftertaste.... cgarvieuk (2149), Edinburgh, Scotland May 23, 2008 Bottle at home ... Amber colour ... nice sweet toffee floral ... some raisins ... little spice ... juicy hops ... rich ... warming ... BlackDonald (696), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA May 13, 2008 This is the most boring and bland barleywine I have ever wrapped my lips around. Light bodied with ample carbonation, there is no way this is 10.5, possibly 6.5 if they are lucky. This is way too tame, and not hot at all on the top of the palate.
