DutchCrow (13), Alkmaar, Netherlands Jul 1, 2008 0.5l at a terrace in Tilburg. I recommend you this place called ’t Buitenbeentje, €2,80 for 0.5l, very cheap. I’m not very experienced with German Hefeweizens, but based on this one I can say: I like it. Smooth taste with less banana than the other ones I had. Nice beer! azlondon (455), Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008Appearance: Light brown, cloudy. Not much head.
Aroma: Wheat (obviously).
Taste: Very wheaty. Hint of banana. Not my thing.
Info: 500ml bottle, 8/10-2005, 37/300, 22/500
Am I the only one not liking this one? I am not big on wheat beers, and did not like this one at all. esjaygee (599), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 25, 2008 Murky brownish amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, clove and nutmeg. Taste of more of the same with some citrus on the back end. Decent hefe – smooth and possess a lively caronation feel. probstk (622), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jun 23, 2008 500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a Weizen glass. JN17/08.
App.: Cloudy brown-amber with a decent off-white head.
Aroma: Spicey – clove and cinnamon, yeasty with less of the typical banana esters, fruity – raisins, apricots and cherries.
Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence with some sharp bubbles, slightly astringent.
Flav.: Slightly nutty, lots of cloves and cinnamon, banana esters, some raisins and other fruits; fairly dry with a light clove finish.
Seems to me I used to enjoy this more...maybe it’s a older bottle? Maybe my tastes have changed? Better drink more to find out! GMCC2181 (277), Bear, Delaware, USA Jun 22, 2008 500ML Bottle: Muddy red in color, good one finger head. Smells like nutmeg. Flavor is a combonation of mild amount of bitterness and sourness. Nutmeg, fruity and spices alll thrown in. Lots of carbonation. Good brew, but I wouldnt but it again.
