Aroma’s of mocha and chocolate malts, but was somewhat lacking compared to the taste. The beer was smooth going down with rich chocolaty malts and definite coffee/mocha notes and a dry, bitter finish. Smooth beer with great taste. Sipped on a 40 degree night... definitely enjoyed. rader58 (180), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Pours a deep black with a head the color of chocolate milk. Aroma of chocolate, toffee and molasses. Bitter initial taste, very much like a very dark chocolate. Finish is smooth, well balanced and chocolate. Quite a nice stout Bonster (103), Jersey Shore, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bomber from the local. Pours a deep black, no light getting through this guy. Big foamy coffee colored head eventually recedes leaving gobs of thick lacing. Chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts attack my olfactory system as I wait for this guy to settle. Bold bitter chocolate flavor backed up by an earthyness and roasted malts. A slight bitter tang and notes of coffee at the finish. Quite tasty, not too in your face intense...nice mild mannered stout. deyholla (703), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle. Poured a deep black with a nice beige head. Aroma was full of roasted malts with undertones of chocolate and coffee. Flavor had aggressive roasted flavors, a bit too much for me, but there was an undertone of coffee. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Pours black with a thin, tan, disappearing head and some frivolous lacing. The aroma is pleasant but not terribly strong and consists of warm sugars, toffee and malt. Tastes of burnt coffee and sweet malt with some hops surfacing later on. Small amount of bitter chocolate at the very end. Overall a very nice stout, but not my favorite. ttutony (56), Texas, USA
