Black color with a thin tan sheen. Black licorice, astringent tobacco, boozy aromas. Oily mouthfeel. Boozy, burnt malt bitter flavors with dry bakers chocolate, mild vinous sourness. Another over the top brew i would have a hard time drinking more than a few sips of.

Growler pour courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours deep dark sludge with lasting mocha head. Good looking brew. The aroma has chocolate, some roastiness, a touch of oak followed by fudge brownie. The taste is roasty malts running to roastier and then burnt malts. Those notes blend into rich chocolate and mild oak. By midway oak, roasty malts, black strap molasses, chocolate and a mild amount of what tastes like dark fruitiness takes this to the finish. Lingering into the after taste are thin layers of chocolate and highly roasted malts. Very little port influence from what I could tell.

Pours a thick black with copper head. Aroma of dark roast, some malt and alcohol. Flavor does hit you with strong dark roast, malt, oak and alcohol. Mouth feel is heavy body, thick, no detectable carbonation. Overall, Big ass beer!!! Good shit!

black pour with a red hue to it and almost no head. after swirling it looked like a stained glass. aroma was sherry, chocolate syrup, vinous notes, peat, and a touch of floor polish. flavor was sherry, vinous, dark roast, and chocolate with a nice slick body.

Pours with a black body and a minimal head. Coats the glass when swirled. Aroma is quite sweet with port, cocoa and a bit of coconut. Taste is sweet, cocoa nibs, vanilla, and a bit vinous/port. Syrupy and mouthcoating. Pretty decent for sure.

Growler from the brewery. Thick and black and oily and viscous. Everything a stout should be. The port oak aging actually smooths it out a little bit. The slight bitter bite from the regular Zhukov’s isn’t there, mellowed out with a slight tart fruitiness. Nice aroma with some berries in with the cocoa. I had the chance to try this twice from a growler and honestly thought the second growler, that sat for a couple days, was a little better. Let it air out in the glass a bit.
