Slightly sweet with chocolate flavor and a hint of coffee. Looks heavier than it feels or tastes. Is smooth, creamy and easy to drink. A good starter stout for newbies just getting into the realm of darker beers. Great dessert beer. heavy (873), Split, Croatia

It poured very dark brown body with smaller brown head. Roasted malt aroma, but also chocolate and cherries. Nice. Some coffee (or cappuccino), caramel and dark chocolate flavor. Its sweetness is cut with slight bitterness, it’s smooth and very pleasant with medium body. Nice longer sweetish cocoa finish. Very tasty stuff! I believe this is my first chocolate stout and I really hope all of them are so good! Maris (10), Canberra, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2009 From a 500ml bottle on 30/12/2009. Faint chocolate aroma, but quite restrained given the taste, which is pretty full on. Very rich, with prominent chocolate and coffee flavours. The bitterness dial is turned up to full and there is almost a touch of sour in the finish. Tastes much bigger than 5.2% - it’s almost medicinal. Perhaps it’s just a style thing, but this is just a little too intense for me to love. Onslow (180), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA

Very tasty and chocolately brew - like someone dropped a cup of Hersey’s Morsels into a pale ale. Plenty good, though not the thing if you are looking for a stout that tastes like a stout... markas101 (597), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Opaque black, heavy chocolate aroma with some roasted malt undertones. Smooth and creamy, watered down hot chocolate feel with minimal bitterness and pure chocolate. Quite good for the style, although too much pure chocolate for my tastes. Doggythedog (1601), Split, Croatia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Bottle purchased at the Beer8 in Genova, shared with heavy Poured a very dark brown body. The aroma was mild, malty and slightly roasty. The chocolate showed in the taste and yeah, it was definitely there, mixed with cappuccino, slightly light. There was some bitterness in there but overall it’s mild, tasty and balanced. A very nice beer. Rich, dark pour with a thick creamy, tan head that lingers. Sweet, chocolate malt aroma with hints of toasted coffee and vanilla. Medium, creamy body with mild carbonation, and a light watery finish. Mild, toasted coffee and dark chocolate flavor with a touch of nuttiness and very little bitterness. No remarkable aftertaste. Tasty, but not overpowering. I could easily drink several in a session. The flavor is more apparent when not too cold. ComradeK (72), Australia

It does not in fact taste strongly of chocolate, rather its addition serves to strengthen the coffee flavours of the stout itself. It is strongly reminiscent of a coffee-filled chocolate indeed. A bizarre, yet rewarding, beer.
