Pours black with a negligible brown head. Aroma of chocolat with coffee. Rich cream texture with nice roastiness. Damn good beer and glad I have access to a lot of the thirsty dog beer locally.

12oz Bottle - Trade - Masonjer
Aroma – Huge dark malt aroma, tons of coffee and chocolate aromas.
Appearance – Black in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor – This was a fantastic beer. Had great dark roasty malts this beer was warm and perfect for a crisp night. Tons of dark flavor.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, Great texture with a dry Impy finish.
Overall – This was a top beer with a flavor to die for The Impy flavor was huge and the dark malts added where just perfect. One of the best beers for the year.

Thick black with a very small amount of dark brown head that dissipates to nothing almost immediately. Great roasted chocolate aroma. The flavors are even better, chocolate is still very present but a wonderful dark fruity flavor is also there to complement the roasted chocolate. A velvety smooth mouth feel and the well hidden alcohol content make this a great beer.

Viscous on the tongue and full of wonderful dark malt with just a hint at some hops.

Pours like liquid dark chocolate into my glass. Cocoa colored head is slow to develop, even after a vigourous pour, and leaves bits of foam on the side of the glass as I drink. This beer has a very rich appearance. It is quite dark, but not completely black, as there are lots of browns and tans in the mix. Great smelling beer as well. Chocolate malts dominate, with a fresh fruitiness apparent as well. Taste is very good. Definite RIS bitterness, tempered by some unsweetened cocoa and some roasted malt. The alcohol is quite well hidden, just creeping into the mix as I swallow. I think it will be more apparent as this beer warms. Great mouthfeel. Rich and thick in the mouth, but it leaves the palate quickly, just begging to be sipped again. Overall, this is a very nice RIS. It is not as harsh as some others I have tried, yet still leaves no doubt that it is a big beer. Very drinkable for a RIS as well. I could have a couple of these at one sitting.
