Commercial Description:
This noble winter beer is brown in colour with flaming red highlights. It has a complex aroma of fruits, alcohol and hops. Its taste is delicately sweet and liquor-like with a hint of burnt caramel. The aftertaste is accentuated by the wonderful flavour of hops.

1/18/08 notes: on tap at Brewpub. Very dark color, like a stout. Sweet aroma that is faint. Features nutty brown flavor with some roasts and caramel. Classic DdC quality, as far as I’m concerned (very well balanced and flavorful). Hard to complain for this strong style, but perhaps a little indescript. Finishes very smooth and nutty.

Draught at Dieu du Ciel! Pours a deep ruby-brown with an average size lasting creamy white head. Nice sweet aroma of caramel malt, fruit and hops. Big, sweet & fruity flavour along with hops, toasted caramel malt, alcohol and nuts -- quite tasty indeed. Alcohol’s present, but in a good way. Medium bodied. Wow, this was very good, and easy to drink -- another great one from DDC!

Draught (6 oz. sample) at Dieu du Ciel! Dark mahogany with a good sized white head. Aroma of chocolate malt and strong hops. Medium bodied. Great flavour, very big and well-balanced, with sweet caramel and toasted nuts off the top, and citric hops and some alcohol warmth in the finish. Yeah, this is some nice stuff.

On tap at DDC. Beautiful dark brown, thick creamy white head. Very sweet and nutty aroma, some alcohol. Taste is good - lots of sweetness, nuttiness, dark fruit. Very easy to drink for the style. I really enjoyed it!

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. Dark mahagony color with thick creamy head. Malty, caramelly and toffeish aroma. Very sweet caramelly flavor with complex dark sugar notes and warming alcohols.
