BelgianBeerGal (902), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 6, 2008 Poured from 75cl bottle at Alesmith dinner. Once again, I don’t have much experience with scotch ales but this was fantastic. Based on my experience I can’t really comment on how true to type it was but I really liked it. Yummy! Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 2, 2008 From bottle poured a deep dark brown body with a wispy tan head. Nutty, sweet, chewy aroma of dark fruits, premier grains, and caramel. Great thick, rich mouthfeel. Finished with appropriate spiciness and a thick rich coat on the tongue. chicagodri (485), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours a dark brown with thin tan head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, nuts, and some dark fruit. Very good flavor, with the malt really dominating. Very smooth and I thought it did a good job hiding the 10%. Very sweet. Nicely done by AleSmith. aubreya (670), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 23, 2008 Pours a caramel dark amber with light sediment. The head was creamy thin and off white. The nose was nuttty, some alcohol, molasses, spice, sweet malt. The flaovr was spicy, sweet, malty, some alcohol. The palate was thick bodied. The finish was warm. Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 22, 2008 POured a dark brown color with an off white headf. Aroma is very malty, some caramel, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is really smooth for a scotch ale, lots of sweet malts, dark fruits, caramel and a hint of chocolate. Only complaint is that it does not hide the alcohol very well.
