Nov 5, 2009 Bottle. Nothing surprising in this pour, medium brown with a moderate fizzle. Mellow aroma of orchard fruit, but this kicks in at the first sip with a monstrous alcohol burn. Apple, caramel, candy sugar are the big kids on the block in this yummy barleywine. (#3731, 11/5/2009)

Oct 26, 2009 Cloudy pour. The color of a dauschund dog. Small tan head. So much fruit in the aroma and flavor! Caramel. A complex style and this beer is right down the middle. So good!

Oct 9, 2009 Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is intense earthy hops, citrus, caramel malts, mild alcohol, and some peat. Taste is much the same. I expected a overly-hopped California BW but it was actually quite balanced between the stereo-typical regional tastes. Top-Knotch.

Oct 7, 2009 Pours a nice amber color with a nice head to it. Has a hoppy smell to it. Has a wood taste at first then goes to a caramel sweeter taste.
