Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Bottle. Red/brown, amber in colour with a beige head. Aroma of grass, lemon juice, brown powdered sugar, caramel and sweetness. Flavour is sweet with caramel, dark powdered sugar, toasted malts, rye bread and spices ending in a a malty bitterness.

Bottle, poured into a tulip glass with a hazy peach color with amber, red, and orange at the edges, produced an off-white head that is creamy and gives lots of lacing on the glass, has a fine bubbled dense head which appears to be signature for the AleSmith Brewery, aromas of orange, citrus, vanilla, toasted malt, and some faint caramel and malt bread sweetness, flavors of caramel, light fruit, candy and malt sweetness, pine needles, lemon citrus and a nice hop bitterness with resins on the tongue, hop bite lingers into the finish and thereafter, this drink is an even malt and hop brew with a lingering hop bite, has some faint alcohol warmth in the background, has a more than medium mouth feel and is creamy on the palate, and very easy to drink.

Overall a very decent DIPA, poured hazy orange with off white head. Starts off hoppy and citrusy and then is overtaken a bit by the malt, and then finishes to a nice clean bitterness. Good DIPA.

Bottle. Golden orange pour with some white head, bottle had noticeable sediment. A balanced IIPA with citrus, floral hop characteristics, and a caramel malt balance. Well done!

bottle. pours a murky orange with a white head. nice lace. aroma of toffee, sweet honeydew, booze. This was a 3.5 months old bottle. definitely past its prime. seems like a lot of the hop character has been lost. not bad, but more of an american strong ale with out the hops. a bit boozy. will rerate once i track down a fresh bottle next year.

Pours a hazy amber with fizzy white head. Aromas of pine and citrus fruit. Flavors of hops and citrus. Alcohol is hidden well and this one finishes smooth. Good solid beer.

Celebration of number 1,000! Poured into a wide snifter from six-month old bottle. Bottle kept in fridge temperatures entire time. Color is gold with bright orange, perfectly clear with a healthy white head. Aroma is of mango, papaya, tangerine, sweet grapefruit and pine. Flavor bursts with a hit of citrus fruit and some sharp lemon pith. Great stuff, indeed. This is hop-malt DIPA balance done right. And extreme. Finishing end turns more lemony as it dries out. Still an explosion of flavor. Mouthfeel is crisp and medium in texture, leading up to a dry finish. Excellent. I’d take this over Yulesmith Winter in a heartbeat!
