| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bomber. Pours a deep reddish brown with a thick but compact yellowish head. Aroma is a burst of fresh, wet hops dripping with their juices, resins, and nectars. Also kind of a musky old towel aroma in there. Anyhow, it’s a vibrant, awake, alive aroma and I like it. Flavor is a lot more rounded and balanced than I expected: Yes, very hoppy but the malts are very bold too, providing good body and backbone. The malts are fruity and slightly sweet while the hops are again juicy and resinous. Almost like a ridiculously-hopped barleywine. Good density and carbonation, softer mouthfeel than expected. The 9.5% doesn’t show at all. Damn. This stuff does live up to its reputation. I’m not a huge hop bomb guy usually, but this stuff is just so delicious and well-made. Technically flawless. I love it. Overall, world class. LilBeerDoctor (1547), East Setauket, New York, USA

Aroma of grapefruit, sweet citrus, apricot and other tropical fruits. Flavor is also quite sweet and fruity initially with a bitter hops finish. Lots of malt too. Good IIPA but it doesn’t have the easiest drinkability.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Bottle. Clear pale orange with little head. Aroma is clear hops and sort of an even mix between floral and grapefruit. flavor is bitter but not strongly so palate is short and a bit sticky, but doesn’t leave a flat bitter in the mouth. Hides the strength well. neepsntatties (350), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Colour... clear amber with a 1/4 inch white head. Nose... sweet! With loads of grapefruit!! Palate... OK Whereas it was grapefruity on the nose, the palate is piney! I rarely find that quality in an IPA, i.e. it tastes piney but smells like grapefruit, or vice versa. Lightly sweet and quite floral with a bit of candied citrus on the finish. drfabulous (1283), Columbia, Missouri, USA
