Jul 4, 2008 Bottle shared by Robert at SL via sloth, a big thanks to both of them. The pour was copper to amber. Aroma had lots of candy, vanilla, marshmallows (Bert nailed that one), corn grains. The flavor was toasted marshmallows, cotton candy, caramel, vanilla, bubble gum, and fruits. Body was barely carbonated, a bit sticky, but not too thick. Drinkable, but not something I’d return to. Many thanks to both Robert and Bert on this one!

Jun 30, 2008 24 oz bottle. Pours a dark hazy caramel with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, vanilla and cough syrup. Taste is dominated by a caramel toffee, cough syrupy flavor. Hints of vanilla detected. Not drinkable.

May 29, 2008 I’ve had multiple chances to consume this beer and have skipped it either on purpose or by chance each time. So now the beer finds it’s way to our tasting and while it’s not horrible, it’s nothing to shout about either.
The beer pours out a clear, orangeish/amber color with a one-finger thick head. Aroma is vanilla-extract like. Cheap vanilla-extract to be specific. A bit of buttered bread, and grains and caramel also show up in the background, but the vanilla is so over the top...not in a good way. Mouthfeel is watery. Flavors are vanilla, waffle-cones, and alcohol. Now there’s good ways to use vanilla beans (see Schooners VBOS) and bad ways. This is the bad way. Ew.

May 15, 2008 beerguy101 brought this to the NorCal tasting as a joke. That’s about the only use I can think of for this beer. Or maybe somehow get the vanilla extract out and use it to bake a cake. Really synthetic nose and flavor.

Mar 22, 2008 Comes in a tiny, twist-off 7floz bottle. Marked as Michelob Celebrate Oak-Aged Dark Vanilla at 10%. I really can’t find anything bad about this beer (other than the small bottle size and the twist-off). Pours an opaque brown color with no real head to speak of. Some alcohol legs run down the sides of the glass. Aroma is of banana, vanilla, figs, oak, sugar and chocolate. Has a smell that I could best describe as a mix between an Eisbock and a Belgian Quad. Taste is of vanilla, chocolate and banana, and is very upfront and bold with all three (a bit unrefined). Oak comes on in the finish. Goes down creamy smooth (as expected from a 10%). Bubbles are very soft. Alcohol isn’t well hidden. Pretty good beer overall, I wish A-B would make more stuff of this quality.
