Jun 12, 2007 On tap at the Barley Johns brew pub, pours a dark, near opaque dark brown brew with a light brown head. Aroma of oatmeal, dark chocolate, some coffee character and a touch of vanilla. Taste is thick, creamy with a smooth finish and sweet aftertaste. Finish also has some dry grassy hops that quickly disappears.

May 31, 2007 Dar dark brown body with a creamy brown nose. Lots of oatmeal on the nose. Dry creamy oatmeal body with a smooth finish and a flash of malt sweetness on the finish.

May 13, 2007 Growler... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, light brown head. Nice retention. Ground coffee, cocoa nose with an intoxicating undertone of Madagascar vanilla beans. The acrid, burnt flavor melds sweet caramel and black malt with citric, blasphemously bitter hops... melted dark chocolate, dark cherry madness. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Burnt, dry, grassy finish. Thanks go out to robertsreality for providing the growler!
