Aroma of roasted chocolate, molasses and some dark fruits. Great flavor, wonderful silky chocolate burst. Taste and aftertaste reminiscent of an oatmeal raisin/chocolate chip cookie. I’ve had some very good Imp stouts, and while this one might not be the best it is certainly unique and definitely worth trying. 502Flavors (137), Kentucky, USA Jun 29, 2008 bomber into sniffer. Perfect impy appearance: pitch black, thick oil pour with a dark tan, big fluffy head. It smells delicious with rich notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, oats, and alcohol. It tastes unbelievably good too. It is very creamy and chocolaty with coffee notes and a subtle vanilla (ice cream) oak background. It includes hints of prunes, raisins, and oats... very complex. It is perfect on the palate for an impy - thick coating and oily. Overall: this impressed me a lot, even more so than I thought. Brilliant imperial stout. cbeers21 (346), Miami, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Oily black pour. Dusty bittering notes are evident on both smell and taste. Mocha, espresso, coffee flavors are all there and pretty dominant; there is a rounded quality to this brew, which adds to its quaffability, dangerously so. This brew is a crusher and I love that frog smiling at me.
