Port Brewing Older Viscosity

FoBAB tasting. Pours a translucent dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Plenty of bourbon barrel plus some caramel in the nose. Medium body and light carbonation. Oaky vanilla in the taste, along with roasted nuts and cookie dough. Dry, oaky finish.

Bottled at home. Opaque black, no head whatsoever. Super complex nose, malts, caramel, dark fruit, liquorice, liquor and much more. Complex flavor as well, pretty sweet but the flavor is developing during every sip, bitter and alcoholic, but also malts, coffee, liquorice and some wood-notes. This stuff is extremely good. Thanks you caesar for suggesting to buy this, i just can’t get enough of this.

Bottle, 2009 Vintage. Nice beer, but more like a mild whisky. Pours black with zero head and almost no carbonation. Had it head to head with Yule Smith, and I preferred the Yule Smith. Very complex and interesting beer. Aroma very boozy, whisky notes, smokey. Mouthfeel is boozy, syrupy. Taste is bourbon, oaky, vanilla, coffee and nice licorice finish.

Pours a black liquid with no head. Smell is extremly rich and very complex with lots of vanilla-like notes of oak, some caramel and a bit of alcohol. The taste has a lot of alcohol, oak barrels and vanilla along with some heavily roasted malt. Somewhere, the flavour fails to keep up with the aroma, but this is still an amazing beer.

Very full-bodied, intensively malty, rather sweet with flavours of licorice, dates, whisky and plums, and just a shy hint of smoke.Very interesting, thanks for sharing this one and Angel’s Share with me, Allen!

Bottle from 2009 batch pours a smokey dark red/brown that has no head or lacing, but leaves "legs" on the glass the way a brandy would. The bourbon-licorice-caramel-chocolate aroma is top notch. The taste buds find raisin, buffalo jerky, oak, dried cherries, smoke, leather, and a pretty strong alcohol base. The dry finish leaves your mouth a-tingle from the front of your lips to the bottom of your throat. Like a boozier, more concentrated version of Angle’s Share. While the complexities of aroma and taste are impressive, at $16/bottle, it’s a one time taste experiment. There are at least twenty other beers I would buy before another of these.

2008 12.7 oz bottle thanks to Giarcsr ( thanks Ryan)poured black and thick in body and yes this one has a nice big whippy tan head aromas are of dark fruits,roasted malts,bourbon,vanilla and oak taste is of all the fore mentionedalso has great lacing , alcohol is very well hiddenvery smooth and creamy mouthfell one great beer
