morrdt (539), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Folio Weekly Beer Festival in Jacksonville, FL. Draft. Seems strange that with a Budweiser brewery here in town, this beer isn’t found around town. Nice amber color and taste, this is a bit better than the usual Bud offerings. They should make this available here in North Florida. subcell (94), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA Jun 30, 2008 This is an awesome Amber. My wife and I make it a point to go to Chi Chos as it is the only place in our area that we know of that serves it. That is all we really get is the beer. It has a beautiful amber color and nice malty aroma with a hint of hop. the flavor is well balanced and the after taste is very nice. This is a great beer! I just wish I could get it in bottles. kimcgolf (654), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jun 19, 2008 Not a bad amber ale, especially for a BMC. Poured to a nice ruby red color with off white head that lingered well and left okay lacing. nose was nothing much, but it had a pleasant mnouthfeel (medium bodied) and a decent taste. Finsih was medium duration and alright. This would actually make an okay session beer.
I had this rating in my mind as I drank it on tap, not knowing who brewed it, and it is not fair to downgrade just because it is a macro. kassner (108), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2008 Had this beer on tap at the Williamsburg Lodge and at paul’s Deli. For a lager really great, just wish AB would decide if they are going to bask Micros (as they do in some commercials) or get on board (as they do in other commercials). Buttery notes, nice golden color. dalepryor (145), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA May 26, 2008 Had this in gainesville at ballyhoo restaurant, similar to the other amber ale they brew called red. This poures reddish copper, with thin white head. Pretty malty and very drinkable, this would be top choice over any of their other offerings.
