garthicus (550), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Purchased and drank at Volo - I ended up having 5 bottles! Appearance: Golden Yellow, small white head - some slight visible carbonation. Aroma- Sour, lemon, grapefruit and pomegranate. Flavour- Sour, pineapple, grapefruit, dry and sweet finish with raspberry, vanilla and champagne in the finish too! Amazing, so happy to have been able to get it in Toronto but was sad when it ran out :-( tomthompson89 (1133), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2008 had at Volo, Wow what a nice beer had on Ralphs recomend. kinda a murky yellow with nice creamy head, nose is citrus rind, yeasty, and spices. such great zesty flavor with a light musty finish very refreshing and interesting. Fantastic beer. mabel (1633), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2008 [1431-20080531] Bottle. Nice sour aroma with graininess notes. Hazy, medium orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Nice back-of-the-throat sour flavour (not an up-front-puckerer). Medium body is sour. Great balance of sourness and beeriness.
(@ Mondial; Montreal, QC) beerbuzzmontreal (2701), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 5, 2008 Solid aroma of fruits, funk and sourness. Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Very good flavor of fruits and sourness with some mild funk, it feels a bit musty too. The body is medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Great stuff. tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 11, 2008 Sweet hay, and lemon meringue pie in the nose with a slight underlying sour note. Opaque, viscous, deep blonde-tan body is topped by a very shy and short-lived, fully diminishing white head. Tropical fruit and lemon citrus fruitiness blend well with a sweet malt character that underlies an almost gueuze-like sour note. Tart wheat character is lingering in the aftertaste. Medium-light body with very low carbonation that just didn’t work that well for me. I hate to be the low rater and maybe it was simply a case of a bad bottle. Hope to have the chance to resample this if there are still any bottles available... Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (bottle conditioned, low fill) purchased at the brewery in mid-June 2008.
