Commercial Description:
Cask, Occasional;
This is one big beer. Forget the ABV, which is just a by-product of the passion. James and Josh from the Queen's Arms, Corton Denham, and I (hence JJJ) have a shared passion for great beers and were lamenting the lack of true IPAs in the UK. So we decided to brew our own version of heaven. Double IPA was just not good enough - we needed a triple IPA. Triple the gravity, triple the colour, and more than triple the hops. With nearly 700 kg of malt and over 11.5 kg of hops this beer is big in every sense. In fact, it was so big and hoppy that it broke our pump! Deep copper in colour, over the top in aroma and flavour, but somehow still remaining (somewhat) balanced, this beer is not for the faint of heart. And if you don't like hops, don't even think about it. But if you do, dare we say this may be the best beer you'll ever taste. We like it so much that upon racking we decided to make it a permanent part of the range.

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is bigtime fruits and flowery malts. Flavour is fruits and flowery hops. Mild notes of caramel malts, but hops own the show in this one.

Clear giolden with tiny white head. Hoppy aroma with pine and caramel notes. Sweet and hoppy flavor with notes of grapefruit, pine and caramel notes. Ends bitter. For once a UK beer with hops in it...

cask at blackfriars- at toms leaving. pours red brown, grey white head. nose is butterscotch, hops, dank, sorta muddy damp smelling, apple tart. tastes ultra bitter, with a sweet kick. citrus, citrus, rich toffee, really drinkable. sticky mouthfeel, the only beer that i have woke up the next day with a taste lingering somewhere in the back of my throat. really wonderful stuff.

Cask in Blackfriars. This was a special that Jon boy got in for me on the fly without telling me, had it straight after venting, a day after venting and 2 days after also, amazing the way it has developed. Pours like SN Bigfoot, aroma is bursting with american aroma hops to start with, however as it developes the caramalt shows a big presence, infact by the end you’d have mistaken this for a barley wine easily. Taste is wonderfully balanced, yes its very sweet due to the massive caramalt presence, however the american hops are excellent also, itsa pritty full body, but still dangerously drinkable.This for me is infact an american hoppy barleywine rather than an imp ipa, but either way its such an awsome beer, and im very very happy indeed about the fact i have another 8 gallons of the stuff for tonight.

Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.
Clear amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, flowers, perfume, grape, orange shell, light alcoholic. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Very very nice ;O)). (010508)
