martinboer (1243), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 4, 2008 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Yellow hazy body. Citrus and sour nose. Sweat hoppy flavour, with bananas, oranges, citrus and strong alcohol flavour. Very nice texture, oily. Very bitter finish. Well done. sayravai (2961), Helsinki, Finland Jul 4, 2008 (Bottled) Opaque yellow with a large, foamy and lacy head, forming Duvel-like clouds. Tripel-like, pale-malty, wheaty aroma with some banana-honeyish sweetness and aromatic-flowery, saazy hops. Malty, slightly banana-sweetish, yeasty flavor with a dry, bitter finish - much like Duvel. Alcohol is present, but not dominating. Medium to full-bodied palate, high- and foamy-carbonated, somewhat acidic mouthfeel. With yeast the flavor is less acidic, but surprisingly dry, lemony and still bitter-hoppy. Not a bad effort in the Duvel - La Chouffe category, but a bit too acidic and carbonated for my liking. thebeertourist (1671), Oslo, Norway Jun 30, 2008 Bottle at Bierpassie Weekend, Antwerpen. Pours cloudy golden with a healthy offwhite head. Fruity and spicy aroma, notably of coriander. Quite a bit of coriander, some vegetable notes, very bitter. Well-carbonated. Probably a bit young, and hoppy beers are not what Het Anker is most famous for. But a quality brewer never miss completely. skortila (2346), Bunnik, Netherlands Jun 30, 2008 Bottled @ Aarhus Beerfestival 2008. Aroma is yeasty, bit cheesy, bit grassy. Pale yellow coloured with a white head. Taste has some bitterness, yeast, citrus, grass. Bit too carbonated. Cobra (1021), In the snake pit, Maryland, USA Jun 29, 2008 750 ml. corked and caged bottle. No freshness date seen. Loud pop releases cork. Poured out a hazy yellow color, with a persistent white head. Slightly over-carbonated. Aromas are of fresh cut straw, earthy hops, sweet malts. Flavors are sweet malts, noble hops, sweet yeasty bread. Medium mouthfeel, very lively on the tongue. Finished somewhat dry.
