Snojerk321 (958), San Diego, California, USA Sep 6, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. I heard this is the same recipe as the IPA with the yeast being a Belgian strain. Big hoppy nose with a light funk. Good Hoppy flavor with again that Belgian yeast funk.....great stuff. Nice looking golden pour with a frothy white head. Very nice aroma of sweetness. I liked the balance between the belgian candy sweetness and the IPA hoppiness. Hophead22 (167), Redlands, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 22oz bottle. Poured a med. gold color, white head. Smells orangy/hoppy kind of weird, but in a good way. Very interesting flavor, nice hoppiness with that belgian character in the backround, very tasty. stefanje (552), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a translucent copper color with a big sudsy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is moderate with Belgian yeasts, mild hops and sweet fruits. The taste is sweet with rock candy, bananas, and wheat--followed up by moderately biter hops. The mouthfeel was full and malty. The finish was long, dry and biter. Overall: A very enjoyable concoction, but as far as Belgian style IPA’s go, I much preferred Coronado’s Hoppy Daze. bsierra (166), Vista, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 Had on tap at Stone World Bistro. Pours hazy orange amber hue with a creamy white head. Aroma is that of citrus and Begian yeast notes. It had a medium bodied and nice refreshing texture. Initial flavor of pale belgian wheat malts with a nice amount sweetness. Mid palate is clovey with a hint of white pepper and hops. Finish was crisp and was an excellent match with my Buffalo Burger and garlic mashed potato.
