| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Rating is from a draft pour. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a larger off white head. The aroma is a wonderful blend of caramel malt, citrus, peach, grapefruit, and a small hint of pine. The flavor is a perfect blend of the caramel malt with the citrus, and pine hops. Other fruity flavors such as peach and mango are present. The beer is med/full bodied and is a pleasure to drink. The alcohol remains well hidden throughout. If this is fresh, it is as good as any DIPA I’ve had. cprochak (445), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2009 On tap at the Three Floyds on 7/21/09. Pours clear light orange/dark gold. Eggshell head. Aroma of pine, lemon and grapefruit. Touch of vanilla on the tongue, then a long bitter finish. Fantastic imperial and the only knock against it is that the alcohol is a bit too heavy and present. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2009 I just found a bottle of Dreadnaught in my beer cellar and think it overstayed it’s welcome by a year or two. That’s right kids, you shouldn’t cellar Imperial IPAs or they end up tasting like barleywines. This one actually hasn’t turned yet. Lots of caramel and cotton candy sugar up front. Grapefruit and toasted malt lingers. A little oxidation but too be expected for sitting a while. KYbrewgal (13), Kentucky, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 On draft @ Sergio’s World Beers. Tons of grapefruit dominate the aroma. Pours with a tall, lingering white head that laces on the glass as you drink it. malt sweetness comes through the hop bitterness and both last into a long finish. Great beer. 3Faveryrogue (113), Aslip, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Draft @ pub. Straight from the source. Wow! Been a long, loong time since I’ve had a bottle of Dread. Mostly the price. And my broke ass.
[A] Sugary grapefruit. Peaches. Definitely a nice fruit variety here. Bunker said he could smell it across the table. Solid caramel malt sweetness.
[A] Amber. White head. $5/8oz. Pretty comparable to bomber price. Nice lacing.
[F] Taste is obviously very citrus. Bitter hop. Fruity. Sugary sweet.
[P] Profile is very sugary sweet. I no longer have a feel for 100 IBUs. Came off quite bitter, but not the pine like slap in the tongue I enjoy. Drinkable, and greatly @ 10%. Without the heat.
[O] Not sure what to say about this. Okay. Well. Its NOT ALL THAT. I’ve had better. But it is pretty damn nice. Good depth. Sweetness is a good thing. Maybe I just hate this for being so damn great. Or maybe my palate was crushed after Grober, BA Klaus, and Ham On. Doubt it. Someone else suggested it was a little off, too. I’d still give it another shot. And I can’t quite say I’ve had anything exactly like it.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Aroma of grapefruit, tart apple and spiced grape. Appearance is gold and transparent with plenty of carbonation; creamy head. Flavor matches the nose perfectly, with more of an emphasis on the grapefruit. Palate was lively. Pretty good.
