wattersla (10), Los Angeles, California, USA Nov 9, 2009 Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy and malty with a lovely fresh grapefruit note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit - especially grapefruit - leading to a good bitter finish.
faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Nov 9, 2009 Botella, thanks a bunch Shaun! Hazy orange colour. Lovely ripe fruity piney aroma. Good well filling mouthfeel. mouthfeel. The flavour has lots of ripe fruits, pine, bitter hoppiness and a pleasant sweetness. Long lasting dry bitter fruity pine finish. dkingsella (85), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 8, 2009 A incredible brew of this style...this is the quintessential Douple IPA. Pours a nice orangy gold with a one finger head of tiny, compact bubbles. Aroma is huge with pleny of grapefruit and pine. While there is plenty of hops in the flavor, especially on the finish, this isn’t one of those over the top hop bombs that will take the enamel off your teeth. This one is much more balanced with plenty of malt. A very well balanced Double. Lives up to its reputation. Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Nov 8, 2009 bottle, shared by shaun. (thanks a bunch)
orange, small white head.
aroma is very nice strong, yet balanced hoppy.
flavor is a bit more watery than the aroma, still it’s very fine.flowery, faint malty.
kangaroo (7), Everett, Washington, USA does not count Nov 7, 2009 This Beer blew my mind.
I cannot think of this as a double IPA. I love double IPAs, but this is something more. I have had this beer once and the flavor is perfect. I have found articles on cloning this beer in home brewing and information on dry hopping. This beer made me go out and learn something new and expanded my understanding of what beer can be. bbbrew (171), Washington DC, USA Nov 5, 2009 091009 bottle from tipsy liquor in CO. good beer. definately well balanced for a double. very drinkable and i seek it out whenever i can. i appreciate that the brewery attends a lot of events and brings a lot of beer. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Nov 2, 2009 91009 bottle 0.5l - Color of apple cider, orange & brown combined. One finger of off white head, smallest of bubbles. Pine and citrus on nose, not room filling but plenty strong up close. Light and watery mouthfeel, yet more than enough malt to support the hop oils. Bitter finish. Top notch. 22415brewery (57), redmond, Washington, USA Nov 1, 2009 Superb flavor and aroma profile, my only complaint is the inconsistency because of all the hopping involved. On-tap and bottled versions vary wildly and this is the only thing that keeps it from being a 5.0 in my book. Well-balanced, gnarly hops, and a beefy malt bill make this a very enjoyable and extremely dangerous IIPA. And yes, it CAN be for EVERYONE. Even my girlfriend, drinker of all things malty, lover of sweet wines, hater of IPAs and hoppy pale ales...she completely adores this beer.
