Oct 2, 2009 Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, roasted malt, and chocolate, leading to a dry finish. It has a nice body. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Sep 9, 2009 Almost everything a smoked should be and more. Shared by the all powerful Daknole, taken from notes. This beer was the most well rounded smoked I’ve ever had. Pours a deep brownish red with a perfect head. Exceptional lacing. Flavor profile is awesome, nice toasted malt, with lots of smoke, and a juicy meat backbone. Not quite as smokey as *I* like, but then again, I like ridiculously smokey beers, so this is actually damn near perfect. Amazing palate on this one, toasted and creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. A fantastic beer.

Sep 6, 2009 Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear dark reddish - offwhite head. Lovely smoked, chocolate, berries, fruity, ashtray, tobacco, sweetness, dark bitter chocolate, roasted, wood, dark bread, smooth body, nice light acid sourness. Lovely - Thanks Paps.

Aug 31, 2009 Dark brown with red glimts and a tiny beige and short lasting head. Aroma had liquerice, hard roasted malt, dark bitter chocolate and woody notes. Flavour had smoke, had roasted malt, wood and dark bitter chocolate. Finish was fairly smoked and bitter. Had loads of warming alcohol. Loved it.

Aug 30, 2009 75 cL botle, courtesy of Papsoe/Retorp. Pours dark brown with a fully gone head. Aroma is roasted breadish, caramelish and solid smoked. Slight sweet to acidic flavoured. Lingering roasted malty flavoured too, interesting mix. Dry and slight phenolic flavoured finish. Lasting smoked impression.

Nothing much more than medium body, a little tired in the mouthfeel. Hard roasted malts, chocolate, tobacco and ashes with smoky accents. Slightly hard roasted malt bitterness. 300809

Aug 10, 2009 I’ve been sitting on these notes for awhile now! Peat smoke, molasses, toasty caramel on the nose. Pours very dark brown, little to no head, almost black. INTENSE, rich peat, peat, and some more peat, molasses, burnt caramel, very decadent, very rich smoke flavor throughout!

Jun 16, 2009 Sample at DLD thanks to Dakine. Dark brown almost black with burnt tan head. Aroma is smoke, roast, sweeter malt, this is meat city. Flavor is sweet roast, chocolate, roast, less smoke in the flavor but still present, tasty. Full body with Creamy body. Fantastic smoke, roast, sweet, very nice.
