Porter dates from the 1720's and is the predecessor to Stout. Ours is a Robust Porter with plenty of body and a deep garnet, almost black color. It is slightly sweet with chocolate & coffee aromas and a slight toffee/molasses finish. Hop and roasted grain flavors are present, but unlike Stout, the Porter profile is balanced with no single dominating component.
