Galbraith's Grafton Porter

Brewer: Galbraith's Brewing Company
Style: Porter
Alcohol Content: 5%
Seasonal: No

Description:
This pitch-black ale takes its name from our building, which once housed the Grafton library and Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s main thoroughfares. Porter was the name given to a beer originally called “entire butt” which was very popular with the market porters in London in the late 1700’s. However it was the Irish that really took a shine to the style, which eventually became known as stout. In some parts of Ireland stout is still called Porter. A very full flavoured dark ale with big roasty flavours and aromas and a bittersweet finish. A complex grain bill (blend of malts) is used as well as several additions of two different hops during the boil.
