RateBeer.com -- Correct Chicago Belgian DubbelChicago Belgian DubbelDescription: Chicago Brewing Company's Belgian Dubbel has become a permanent addition to the line up of summertime specials. Belgian beers are a fairly new and diverse breed of beers to have been introduced to the U.S. market only within the past 50 years or so. We feel that our dubbel is a fine example of this particular style. The rich amber color is created using a blend of pale, munich, crystal, and chocolate malts which are responsible for the caramel and raison-like flavors. The selected yeast strain comes from a Trappist brewery in Belgium. The yeast left in suspension is responsible for the beautiful fruity esters and spice filled aroma. Dubbels are lightly hopped so as not to mask the complexity and character of the contributing malt and yeast. Brewer: Chicago Brewing Company Style: Abbey Dubbel Alcohol Content: 7.5% Seasonal: No
