RateBeer.com -- Correct Brewers Alley Highland AleBrewers Alley Highland Ale

Description:
Every year at the end of the summer, The Great Frederick Fair hosts a number of competitions as part of its agricultural heritage. Two of those competitions are for home-made wine and beer. Brewer’s Alley sponsors the Homebrew Competition Best-of-Show award by providing the winner the distinct honor of having their recipe brewed here in our brewery. This past year’s winner was Howard Bruneau, with a Scotch Ale. The hop flavor in this beer will be more than what you are used to in the Brewer’s Alley Scotch Ale. Howard’s beer has almost 3X the amount of hops as our Scotch Ale does. However, this level of hop flavor works well in this beer, due to its having a rich and full malt character; this balances the higher level of bitterness in this beer.
