The inaugural beer is code named REGAL PALE ALE. It was brewed on June 25th and released around July 16th. REGAL was a strong and hoppy English-style pale ale. It is made with 100% English pale malt and is bittered with all Magnum hops. It was dry-hopped with some Fuggles and English Goldings. Thirty pounds of oyster shells were added to the two hour boil (courtesy of The Blind Tiger, NYC). Why put oysters in the boil you may ask? Why not. They provided a subtle earthy mineral quality and depth. The finished beer delivers around 55 IBUs. A good session beer by our standards. Brewer: Heavyweight Brewing Company
