RateBeer.com -- Correct Cambridge Easy RiderCambridge Easy RiderDescription: This easy-drinking India pale ale is made up of just two malts and two hop varieties. Nearly 45% of the mash is made up of malted rye, in addition to imported German pilsner malt. Rye is a somewhat unusual brewing grain in today’s American beer culture, but has been used for centuries in Northern European brewing tradition. It has a slightly sweet, faintly nutty flavor, which is quite pleasant, but may be hard to discern amongst the intense hop flavor of this beer. Hop varieties utilized in this beer are English First Gold and U.S. Glacier in the kettle and in extensive dry-hopping. Easy Rider is a pale golden color, with a bit of haziness caused by the rye, much like the haze in a wheat beer. Crisp, clean, dry, refreshing, and VERY hoppy, with a nice sweet malty backbone to keep it all together. Brewer: Cambridge Brewing Company Style: India Pale Ale (IPA) Alcohol Content: 5.6% Seasonal: No
