Mitchell's has two locations that are nowadays unrelated and they taste differently. The bottles look identical, but the label states if it's brewed in Cape Town or Knysna. The beers from the brewery in Knysna is ony distributed to the Garden Route (from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth), and to a few places inland from there.
The Cape Town brewery supplies the rest of South Africa.
For a long time the mix of Foresters Draught and Bosuns Best Bitter has been a local favourite in Knysna. Now the brewery has started brewing a beer mixing these two recipes to meet the demand.
