RateBeer.com -- Correct Cambridge ALT-erior MotiveCambridge ALT-erior MotiveDescription: This German style Alt, or “Old” beer is a throwback to a time of beer revolution in the 1800s. In a period of history when pale lagers were being brewed as the trendy new beer,
the brewers in the Rhineland insisted upon continuing to brew a rich, copper-colored,
hoppy ale that was fermented with a traditional top fermenting yeast. We have paid homage to these brave souls by using all German ingredients, including Munich and Vienna malts, Tettnanger and StrisselSpalt hops, and even the yeast strain. Alt-erior Motive is a full bodied beer with a nice malt presence and notes of toasted grain and fresh baked bread. The assertive hop bitterness has a rich earthy and spicy quality to it, reminding us of the region and soil in which they were grown. We hope you enjoy our rendition of one of the oldest ales brewed in Germany.
