The latest release from the brewery inside Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats (Rehoboth Beach), Blood Orange Heffeweizen. This beer was featured in Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione's book "Extreme Brewing."
The beer is about 4.5% abv with approximately 30 IBUs.
The brew is composed of 70% Wheat Malt, 30% Pilsner Malt and hopped exclusively with Ahtanum Hops. A total of 180 Blood oranges in the form of rinds, juice and pulp were added to the whirlpool, during fermentation and post fermentation.
