RateBeer.com -- Correct Church Brew Four Grain Harvest AleChurch Brew Four Grain Harvest Ale

Description:
Our next specialty beer is the Four Grain Harvest Ale. This beer was brewed to celebrate the fall harvest of both barley and hops. This is the most diverse and eclectic grain bill we have used since I have been at the Church Brew Works. All varieties of malted barley are present. Pale malt is present with ASM malt from England. Caramel malt is present with caraMunich and caraAmber representing Germany. Roast barley is present in the form of chocolate malt again from England. The other three grains represented here are rye, wheat, and oats which represent the States. We also celebrate the hop harvest by kicking the hop profile up. We are using two Pacific Northwest hops in this brew. They are galena and cascades two fine examples of indigenous American hops. The color of the beer is a pronounced reddish brown color that is achieved through the use of caraMunich and chocolate malts. The aroma of the beer is very floral and citrusy. This is from the use of cascades the great American hop. When you first taste the beer you will notice some fruitiness from the yeast as well as toffee and chocolate from the caramel and roast malts. The finish will be a smooth crisp hop finish from the galena hops. I hope everyone enjoys our tribute to the hardworking farmers, maltsters, and hop growers who provide us with the best possible raw materials.
