CEE is a Portland-based non-profit that successfully petitioned the EPA to secure funding to clean up the abandoned Formosa Silver Butte Mine. Formosa Silver Butte has released millions of gallons of heavy-metal laden, acid-mine drainage into the Umpqua River watershed.For this reason, Roots will donate 10% percent of Nevermined Pale Ale sales to CEE. which is currently targeting two other abandoned mines in Oregon for cleanup.
