Recently the Upstream Brewing Company upgraded our Gold Coast Blonde recipe in a pilsner style lager. While experimenting with this style change, we bumped it up a notch and decided to brew an "imperial" pilsner as our next seasonal. our "imperial" pilsner has more body, more maltiness, and, of course, more alcohol than your ordinary pilsner! In making this seasonal, we used a special lager yeast and allowed a cooler extended fermentation time, typical for this style. The resulting beer is a smooth, thirst quenching lager with exceptional dimension for a light bodied beer.The rich body and crisp flavor perfectly compliment the high alcohol content. Enjoy.
