Southampton “Big Brown Ale” is our version of American-style Brown ale. As you might image, American-style Brown ale is bigger and bolder than classic English Brown ale. It contains “more of everything”- more hops (American varieties, of course), more malt and more body. This results in a higher alcohol content of 6.0% by volume (as compared to English Brown ale which is typically in the 4.5% range). FLAVOR DESCRIPTION: Big and bold with an assertive piney hop character with hints of chocolate and caramel.
