ok, maybe I expressed myself in a wrong way... I did not get the point or fact where our opening statement is confusing. Maybe you could help me out with this thing.

Why the shop? sell beer, that is certain, otherwise we would not call it a shop

But why a shop at Struise? Because every brewery has one... we did not up to know, well that has changed.

Ok, but why this shop? Because, I get confused to find a bottle of ours on ebay being sold at 50$ or at a webshop in Belgium at 12$.

Paying 12 to 14$ for a bottle of BA in USA or Canada is however a standard price. Adding handling, export, tranport, import duties, distributing costs, every other cost I did not think of, and there is not a lot left over.

No, what we are trying to do is putting a break on all this European piracy business which is organized through Ebay and other European online shops. This is more than a scam operation, it hurts every entrapped consumer, it hurts every official importer, it hurts every hard working distributor, it hurts your local store, but in the end it hurts us Struise most.

So if anybody out there thinks it was wrong of u to start this service, please give us some real arguments to work on, we would like to understand, get your picture...

Cheers, Urbain

Hi Urbain

I didn’t mean to say I don’t like what Struise is doing. Just wanted clarification on that statement because it seemed to be contradictory, but now that we know for sure it’s a beer store selling beers, that clears it up.

I agree with you - the gray market piracy re-seller business has gotten pretty bad and hurts the brewers as well as the consumers.

I am looking forward to buying beers direct from Struise. Thank you for making this possible.

Regards,
BG

to Chicago that is

I do not know where you got this information but it is not correct. 6 bottles is less than 5kgs and costs not more than 30 euros, which is very far away from your 80$!

Anyhow, we do not want to compete with American shops, that is not our strategy. We can compete though with every pirate that ships beer out of Belgium or Europe. You can find a bottle of good beer at our shop for +- 2.5 to 3 euros where a pirate will sell it between 10 to 30 euros. Shipping prices are just the same for everybody...

cheers, Urbain

Hi Bg,

I know the layout still sucks, but the most important thing for the moent is the information everyone can read & find. The whole project will evolve, at least I hope.

Maybe you could mail me a shop statement which is clearer for everybody to read... and understand

thx & cheers, Urbain
