Instead of listing all of the Twin Cities area brewpubs and taprooms as I’ve done in the past, I’m going to limit the thread, at least in title, to Minnesota Breweries-in-Planning. I’ll still mention the western central Wisconsin BIPs as well. |
Brass Foundry, an evolution of the closed South Fork Brewing Company (which was in Delano, Minnesota), has selected a unique space in downtown Minneapolis. See the thread at the other site for more information: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/breweries-opening-in-the-minnesota-2017-2018.479445/page-28#post-5583085 |
Re: Brass Foundry / South Fork: At least as of two weeks ago, Brass Foundry (owned by Work Zone Breweries Inc.) was trying to sell South Fork’s brewhouse equipment. I believe the owner is looking to install a different system at the Minneapolis site. http://discussions.probrewer.com/showthread.php?68861-3-5-BBL-Used-Copper-Plated-Brewhouse-for-Sale |
Originally posted by islay I chatted with one of the dudes at Winterfest and he told me at the time they were considering the Highway 280 / University Ave corridor for a satellite taproom. Appears they’re looking elsewhere now. |
Originally posted by MatSciGuy My source told me they are looking at White Bear Lake but nothing is imminent, and they seem to be open to other locations, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the area you mentioned is still a possibility. |
Blue Wolf Brewing Company, an old BIP for Champlin that had been thought dead, has been revived, this time for Brooklyn Park. It’s aiming to open prior to the Super Bowl (yeah right). Hat tip to HammsMeASAP at the other site. |
Eater Twin Cities has updated its "The Essential Guide to Twin Cities Taprooms." Its boundaries are narrower than mine, but, within those boundaries, I didn’t find anything missing. Just a few quibbles: Finnegans’ unopened taproom, which, to my knowledge, is not opening particularly soon, inexplicably makes the list even though no other taproom-in-planning is included. Also, Lakeville Brewing Company, a brewpub, not a taproom, is included counter to the criteria given. Badger Hill’s flag on the map is in the wrong spot. |
Chaz at the other site: "Cedar Island Brewing Company (Albertville) is looking for a head brewer." |
morimech at the other site: "I have heard Back Channel Brewing will open Sept. 15." Back Channel is an upcoming taproom in Spring Park on Lake Minnetonka. |
A Twin Cities area brewery is for sale, apparently different from the last one listed on BizQuest but who knows? Hat tip to JakeJohnson at the other site. Have at it, gumshoes! https://www.bizquest.com/business-for-sale/award-winning-turnkey-craft-brewery-with-taproom/BW1410276/?q=a3dpZD0xMDYmbD1TMjUmbz0x |
"Lift Bridge plans new brewery within 2 years." The new brewery may or may not be in Stillwater (but, if not Stillwater, somewhere close), and the taproom may or may not move to the new location. |
