Ive never been to the original Liars Club so I can only speak for this one. It definitely was nicer than I expeced. Seemingly lacking in character, but was ok. Tap and bottle menu was solid, and their food was quite good, although spicy as hell. Was with a bigger group of ratebeerians so it was all good. Service was decent, not awesome.

Unfortunately, I have to echo some of Todd’s problems with this place. The location is very sterile, as is the interior. It lacks a lot of soul and character, much like the San Diego Toronado. They still have an awesome beer selection and their food is still very good. I had the turkey wrap and fries. The portion was very large and the price was quite a bargain. The service was very good as well. I guess I just wish this place would have just changed the name of the bar, rather than continuing to call it Liar’s. This just leads to unfair comparisons to former place, which was epic.

This is sad to have to do...but, considering the original liars club was probably my favorite place in all of San Diego...and now we have this bullshit crap in Alpine full of bad business decisions and whatever else...It must be done. Let me say though, I’ve only been here 2 or 3 times...only one time i can remember that was specifically bad...but...there’s other problems. OK, problem #1 - The place itself. This is not the liars club! The liars club is some ditzy dirty fucking dive one block from the beach with punk rock blaring out the speakers, a street full of half naked stupid blonds with nice tight asses...and always crowded with gutter trash (the good kind) and drifting cigarrette smoke and a bunch of greasers with wierd hair and stupid rolled up pants and black boots.. The new location has NONE of this, NONE OF IT WHATSOEVER!!!!!! (other than the occassional greaser) IT IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLACE ALTOGETHER. I guess the last laugh is on all of us as the LIAR’S CLUB really LIED to all of us by calling this location the Liars Club. That being said..the beer selection is still tight as hell. The food, well...complicated..same menu apparently, but I’m just not getting the same satisfaction out of the food as i used to get, not by a long shot...and the wings, they are fucking pathetic excuses for wings. DO NOT GET THEM. not only are they ALL drumsticks and NO flats, they are full of tendons, not fully cooked, and the sauce has down syndrome and isnt remotely hot or remotely buffalo. Service sucks big time. I’m not going into this other than to say that it sucks and there is no question about it. and to the final discussion, the important one among most...LOCATION. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpine? ALPINE? I dont even know what to say. Fuck ALPINE! Fuck anyone who lives east of North Park!

Strange place...in an office park...definitely not a block from the beach any more...lots of dining and the food menu looked great, but I did not eat...a great selection of about 50 bottles and maybe 20 drafts...but some great drafts!!! I had one of my all time favorites NB Eric’s Ale!

Pretty much a restaurant with a 15 stool bar. Huge, top shelf tap selection, I counted at least 30 handles, with another 100+ top notch bottles. The food is decent enough with reasonable prices. Simply an awesome place !

Love this place. It has a massive selection for the beer geek. Some very hard to find stuff, amongst some great stuff. They just love beer. An excellent stop after picking up some Alpine.

Went in for lunch. The interour is kinda boring, hopefully they will make it nicer with time. Amazing food - best burger I’ve ever had. Picture: www.flickr.com/photos/23186639@N04/2504378970/ Nice selection of rare beers. Friendly service.

This placed sucked! I had to show ID even though I was near 30. I showed my Danish passport, but the bartender wouldn’t accept it. Said it was fake even though US customs had stamped it. She wouldn’t even pour me a cider! So we left... two very dissatisfied customers!

Went today for the first time after the Alpine Release, and it was really cool inside, great music great taps, good brew and great food, not bad at all. I really liked it. Lewis keep up the good work.

Great place. Far move from the beach, but closer to me now. Always good selection and the food is pretty darn tasty.
