19 reviews for The Cockney Pub
MagisterLudi (1), Aarhus, Denmark does not count - explanation | | November 2, 2009 Highly recommended. If not for the moody barkeeper, the small smoked up room with lights on and no music, then definitely for the selection of whiskies, Danish microbrew on tap and British delicasies. | Tskjernov (3), Harlev J, Denmark does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2009 A visit here is toppriority. | chrisv10 (9), , Denmark does not count - explanation | | June 10, 2009 [ Updated June 22, 2009 ] Several cask beers and other micros on tap. | | yngwie (82), Kristiansand, Norway | | May 20, 2008 Five or six real ales, a cider from cask, as well as 12-13 beers and a cider on tap, and a good selection of bottles makes this an interesting place to visit when in Århus. If it’s too crowded, there’s a sister-pub just around the corner, but without the casks when I was there. The girl behind the bar at Cockney was quite busy, but was paying attention very well, rapidly taking my order. I dislike the smoking in the pub, but one of the two rooms seemed to be smoke free. | | Bragesnak (67), Aarhus, Denmark | | March 25, 2008 Real ales and seleral danish micros on tap.
Rare British bottles and som Belgians
Good whisky selection
Service much depends on who is behind the bar
Needs to be non-smoking to getter better rates | | TheDog (24), Aarhus, Denmark | | March 11, 2008 [ Updated August 19, 2008 ] Old small pub. Mostly bottles from minor british brewerys. No brown ales at all! Quite a few regulars being wise on beer. The owner has just bought a place called Thorups Kælder nearby. I miss more micros and of course the one and only brown ale and kind service! | | thewolf (123), Kolding, Denmark | | February 5, 2008 A great place - especially in the winters, when you can sit in the room next to the pub (avoiding the smokers). A good, varying bottle selection (Durham!) as well as 5-6 regular tabs and 5-6 ever-changing ones. Nice pub atmosphere, but quite a few ’regulars’, making it difficult to order sometimes. | | fiulijn (198), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy | | January 31, 2008 It looks like a very old pub, and as often happens, it’s quite dark inside. The selection must be the best in town, with a handful of Real Ales on cask, their own lovely Wintercoat Cockney Imperial Stout (best beer here), Fur and Kongens on tap, one real cider and, impressive, a good number of bottles, mostly English self-imported ales that you won’t find elsewhere on the continent! We got also good advice on the beers, and directions for a splendid restaurant (the Mephisto). I’ll become a regular here... | | BeerBiker (36), Kathmandu, Nepal | | February 23, 2007 A place to visit again. The waitress gave us excellent service and adviced all of us personally on a mediumbusy day. Lots of taps and bottles from Britain. Great atmosphere. | | Dedollewaitor (75), Odense, Denmark | | February 15, 2007 wintercoat & fur on tap together with westmalle dubbel & prinzregent luitpold. A lot of British ales. The place itself is cosy and the atmosphere is calm. The waitor didnt however felt like providing any kind of service on a medium busy saturday in october!! However one of the better places in Aarhus to visit! |
