| DarioSpezza (10), , Italy | | November 24, 2009 It’s one of my favorite places in Brussels.
Unique atmosphere, good selection of beers and reasonable prices. The waiters was always kind with us even when we got drunk (often). | | gyllenbock (19), Stockholm, Sweden | | October 27, 2009 Visited on a Friday evening in October 2009. The place was packed and full of smoke. Selection was not that impressive but the atmosphere was great, old world charm. The service was rather quick and friendly. Location in central Brussels close to the Radisson Royal Hotel. | | marchcow (36), Coralville, Iowa | | September 21, 2009 Great drinking atmosphere except for the smoke, the placed was filled early on a Friday evening. Wonderful architecture and details throughout. Beer list was pretty good. Service was ok. Stopped by here again on another day and couldn’t get any service so I left. Definitely worth a stop though as it’s close to the center and easy to find. | | fly (190), austin, Tejas, | | September 15, 2009 Simple, old, nice waiter that was very engaging, good friends, fair selection and atmosphere soaked up from past nights. | | altonbrownd (71), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | August 30, 2009 Beautiful traditional pub near Grand Place. Selection and service a bit dear, but the ambiance is fun. I enjoyed one beer and took off. | | Bloekie (10), , Belgium | | August 8, 2009 This is an old style Brussels pub. They have almost all Mort Subite beers (du’h). The service is by this old couple dressed up like Fawlty Towers, which makes it even more cosy. The selection isn’t all that special. Yes they have Rochefort and Westmalle, but they have that almost everywhere in Belgium. The food is typical Brussels food, which you could try, but is pretty expensive for what you get. We drank a White Lambic beer, which I never even heard of before. | | soyorganic (18), Denver, Colorado | | August 3, 2009 Nice beer place with nice atmosphere and patio seating outside. Croque Madame (grilled cheese, ham w/fried egg on top) can be made without ham. Rochefort 10 and Westmalle Dubbel in proper glassware. Service was OK and waitress spoke French and some English. Good option to check out. | | eManu (22), Brussels, Belgium | | July 30, 2009 A very typical old style Brussels tavern, with great and friendly service. Good beers, I had the Trappistes Rochefort 10 in its proper glass, and some food for thought. A very enjoyable place for a relaxing time. Menu has some good beers and its definitly a place for good beers. The draft of the month was La Chouffe. | | zanfa11 (10), , Italy | | July 5, 2009 nice and vintage place with a good atmosphere.
god save the Oude kriek ......the other beers are too sweet. | | andri (10), , Denmark | | July 3, 2009 The service was quick, friendly and attentive.
I tried the faro and the gueuze on tap. Both were absolutely amazing and the gueuze was much smoother than in the bottle. The rest of the selection seemed pretty standard.
This is a convenient stop in Brussels that I would suggest to anyone wishing to try the gueuze and/or faro.
