This place is great if you’re trapped in Southern Maryland, where exotics, culture, and class almost always seem to be lacking. Beer selection is good on most points, but does tend to rotate a bit (and I’m not talking about the seasonals or special brews). They have an excellent benefit of being able to have a beverage while continuing your shopping, however, they don’t seem to trust themselves to run a tab which is a real buzzkill. This place used to be a bike shop of the exact same name and I even bought a MTB therewhile a lot of the interior has changed, a lot of the layout and walls are the same, which kinda kill the ambience for me. I think they’re heading in the right direction, but they need to be open later (they close @ like 8ish on Fri/Sat), need to do away with that pseudo-retail/crammed look and adjust their selling mechanisms to allow for running a tab. Lastly, their food tends to be more on the gourmet side (for this area), and they largely pull it off well. All-in-all, accessibility issues aside, this is a nice place to end a long week.

This is one of only a couple of places that has a great craft beer selection in the area. They don’t have very much, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality. They keep a small amount cold, and most of that is singles that you can drink with your meal. The food is fantastic but the place is small and crowded sometimes and you may have to share a table with strangers. They also have a great wine selection and some high end liquors. They also taste different wines everyday.

If you live in Southern Maryland, & are looking for a place to find your next beer fix, this is pretty much the only game in town, & it’s no slouch. Very nice, quiet cafe setting, with a small, but surprisingly well stocked beer room. I only guessed 250 when I added this place, but I still haven’t run out of new beers to try, & they bring in different ones regularly. Food is very good. The sandwiches are excellent, & they serve two or three different entrees each day. They’ve also got a better-than-average selection of wines & liquor. I’m definitely thankful for whatever made them decide to turn this once bike/kayak shop into a place where I can FINALLY get decent beers.
