2 reviews for New York Wine and Culinary Center
| KyotoLefty (132), Kyoto, Japan | | September 1, 2009 Went down here with the family for lunch. Really nice. They have about 8 tasting flights of wine and beer to try, plus you can taste the beers singly. There are about 10 draught beers on the restaurant menu, each only $4 for a pint, including some at 10%+. There was a bar where it looked like you could just drink beer and wine, although it was empty in the afternoon--don’t know if the prices are so good there, but looks like a nice place to stop. Nice redwood-paneled interior. Lots of great NYS wines and great local foods too. Really cool place. | | Nate (197), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | July 26, 2008 Two interesting things about this place: 1) all beers are from New York, ranging from Genessee and Saranac to Southampton, Brooklyn, and Ommegang. 2) they have food-beer pairings suggested on the menu in addition to food-wine pairings. Great food and professional service. The decor and seating is very nice. It’s a bit pricey but not unreasonable (except the desserts were too expensive IMO). Lots of focus on local/regional ingredients and careful preparation (hey, it is a culinary center after all). If you’re in the area and want a nice dining experience and some decent beers, this is a good place. You can stroll along the lake afterwards, then drive over to Wegmans to pick up beers to go. |
