| Nate (194), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | July 26, 2008 OK, normally I wouldn’t add and rate a grocery store for beer selection, but like Whole Foods in many places, Wegmans in Canandaigua kicks butt. There are three big sections at the end of three aisles dedicated to beer. You can’t break six packs here, but there are many single bombers and 750’s available. There are tons of NY micros and regional favorites, along with US micros, macros, and European imports. An entire section is dedicated just to Belgians, including 4 different Trappist breweries. I picked up some nice stuff to take home. Much of it is also available in the cooler section, too, in case you’re going to drink it soon after purchase. If you’re in the Finger Lakes near Keuka Lake or in town, this is a good place to go. The Wegmans in Ithaca wasn’t nearly as good. |
