| fly (191), austin, Tejas, | | November 1, 2009 Josey Lane? Could I have believed this would be in existence so many years ago? Yeehaw and hope I manage to meet Rick. | | BMan1113VR (116), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | November 1, 2009 Came in on a Sunday. Plenty of parking on the way in. Rick was taking the day off (good for him), but sadly did not get to meet him. Large store with what appears to be room for more product in the back (behind the huge Clydesdale). Every beer is in a cooler (apart from a few magnums) which is nice. Decently large selection, and seems to be quite up to date with all the new selections in town. I counted 2 meads, 0 non-macro ciders (woodchuck and other crappy stuff), and about 6 sakes (although there was one that I had never seen before). Beers were solid. Fair prices. Seems like a good place, but a bit out of the way for me. That said, I will be back. | | Tejas (16), Dallas, Texas | | October 21, 2009 Can’t believe I haven’t rated this. This is my first choice to shop even though it’s a bit out of the way for me. Easily has the coldest cold box in DFW and Rick, who is a solid guy, always goes way out of his way to get the newest stuff. Ratebeer discount is a good bonus too even if it has recently been decreased. | direwolf9 (2), Dallas, Texas does not count - explanation | | June 17, 2009 First time I’ve been there. Its no lie...Rick is great. I was in a hurry today and just kind of blew by him but stopped long enough to exchange business cards for future beers. In the short period I was there he managed to dig up some Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout and Stone Russian Imperial Stout in the 22 oz bottles. I’ve had the Yeti before but not the oak aged or the stone russian. I know what I’ll be doing tonite..... | | Cavie (53), Fort Worth, Texas | | June 6, 2009 [ Updated October 23, 2009 ] This store is definitely developed to cater to both typical macro drinkers and educated crafters. We drove up for the Saint Arnold’s tasting and was greeted at the door by a Miller girl. She was hot, I’ll give her that. The local SA representative was there, gave us 3 samples and lots of conversation. Met Rick and he directed us to his walk in cooler. Nice selection of craft 6-ers and an even better selection of large singles. Several things were on sale here that I had never seen before. Rick was super friendly and enjoyed talking about what he does. We ended up picking up a few large bottles and after some inquiries about some hard to find beer, Rick pulled out a bottle from the back that he didn’t advertise. MUCH thanks goes to him for that!
UPDATE: Rick has gone out of his way several times to get information and new beer out to the RB clients. I appreciate the service. | | legion242 (79), Richardson, Texas | | April 17, 2009 Can’t belive I never got around to rating Rick’s place. That is what a rainy day off can do for one- catch up!!
Rick goes out of his way to always have the lastest and greatest and is a super friendly guy to boot. A bit out of the way for me, but when I can, I make it over there. | randytejas (1), , Texas does not count - explanation | | December 5, 2008 Ditto what Lumpy said. The staff is incredibly hospitable and go out of their way to find you stuff and enquire about what you like. Best selection in the area. | | ericandersnavy (28), crossroads, Texas | | August 30, 2008 this place is a long drive for me but well worth it. bring a jacket for the walk in cooler. Rick offered me his shirt though. they had a good selection of beers that i couldnt find in denton. he seems that he will go out of his way to get you what he can get. i will go back for sure. they had some glassware on sale as well. | Botnik (7), Carrollton, Texas does not count - explanation | | March 12, 2008 [ Updated April 24, 2008 ] I still visit CM and Mr G’s when I have time. Rick’s place is closer to home, and he really gives a d___ about great beer. | | johndavidj99 (21), Township, Maine | | February 14, 2008 Decent selection. I didn’t really find anything I hadn’t seen anywhere else. I liked the beer cave. |
