2 reviews for 12th Street Tap House
ewest9 (1), Charlottesville, Virginia does not count - explanation | | June 27, 2009 This place is a restaurant that has great beer. 14 taps. 9 rotating. 2 are dedicated to Belgian or Belgian-style/whoppers that are best served in a 10 oz snifter. Most draft beers are served in a 20 oz glass. 10 oz or ’princess’ pints are available. Food is delicious and menu is very dynamic changing with the seasons. I here the chef gets tired of cooking the same stuff, so it looks different from one month to the next. | | dkachur (114), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 10, 2009 This is a brand new place in Charlottesville. Located near the University, Parking is a piece of cake after 5:30 pm as there is a large lot used by the University that is empty by then. There are two or three large rooms as well as a bar that is handicapped accessible!!! How odd! Smoking is allowed after 10PM. Nice looking food menu, but the thai chicken curry I got and the hummus plate my friend got were just ok. Not great. Not bad. There are 10 taps with a selection of American micros. 40 or so bottles with lots of American micros and some Belgians. The highlight was imperial pints for the draft beers... $4 for all selections except $5 for the Old Rasputin. I didn’t get a chance to ask if these were introductory prices or not. Hopefully not. Service was pleasant. I saw other patrons getting samples. Very nice place, and hopefully with time the draft list will get even better. |
