5 reviews for Greenlife Grocery
elgiacomo (5), Chickamauga, Georgia does not count - explanation | | July 12, 2009 Pretty good selection of lower alcohol beers in the grocery store, especially for Chattanooga. They have some high alcohol offerings in the separate wine section, and again, the selection was overall good for Chattanooga, but not the greatest. Prices are on the high side, but I expected things to be overpriced at Greenlife. Service was great, employees were helpful and very friendly. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | June 30, 2009 Stopped in after Noogfest High 5. Pretty decent low alc beer selection. Great quality food with a big eatery area. Cold beers by the single. Reasonable prices. A small attached high alc store. Not nearly as large a selection as the one in Asheville, but pretty damn good for a grocery store in TN. | | lithy (103), Knoxville, Tennessee | | June 30, 2009 Standard upscale grocery with a decent beer selection. Prices are a bit high and no mixing sixes. Good TN selection though. | | Suttree (88), Knoxville, Tennessee | | June 3, 2008 Stopped by after Noogfest 4. The store itself seems to be larger and easier to get around in than the one in Asheville, and the parking lot is much easier to navigate. The beer selection was sizeable, and I found a few things to take back to Knoxville. I’d’ve loved to have been able to browse the rest of the store a bit longer. | | NachlamSie (213), Tennessee | | June 1, 2008 [ Updated June 10, 2008 ] This place has a rather extensive beer selection for the area. Many of the brews are available in singles. One thing that definitely surprised me was the addition of a wine room in which they sell high alcohol beer 6 days out of the week. I was here on a Sunday so I did not get to browse that area thoroughly. However, through the window I did see a handful of beers that are not usually at Riverside beverages across the street. I will probably make this my beer stop whenever I’m staying in town. I ate lunch in their cafe area. Pretty good food for a grocery. I enjoyed chili-chicken breast with wasabi coleslaw.

I finally made it up here on a Monday and was able to browse the higher alcohol section. The clerk was actually quite knowledgeable and we chatted about beer for a few minutes. I was impressed that the wine guy would know his beer stuff. The selection here is better than any other place I’ve seen in Chattanooga, but is lacking even compared to Knoxville. I did score some fresh Ruination which seems to be difficult for me to get. |
